PROS:

-New anodized aluminum front of the nano does not scratch as easily as previous models.

-The 2 inch screen provides a clear, bright picture with sharp, vivid colors, great for videos and photographs.

-Video performance is fantastic. The action scenes play smoothly, and the audio remains synced with the picture at all times.

-Provides a reasonably full sound absent from previous nano models

-The new feature ‘cover flow’ gives the user a new, interesting method to browse through albums. This way, the user is able to view the album artwork as they search. It reminds me of perusing though an old time jukebox.

-Uses flash memory, so there are no hard disk lag problems seen with the Classic iPod.

-The battery life comes close to apple’s playing life claims. (I got 22 hrs of audio and 3.5 hrs of video)

-The nano feels very lightweight and fits well in your hand.

-Comes with 3 games: Solitare, Vortex, and iQuiz

-Easy to shuffle songs with new on-the-fly shuffling command.

CONS:

-Clickwheel can become frustrating until you get used to this smaller, seemingly more sensitive wheel.

-Still no FM Radio or Voice recorder.

-Many previous ipod nano accessories do not function correctly with the new nano.

-The chrome back is easily scratched.

-No video output port

-No SD memory expansion

-‘Cover Flow’ tends to take a second or two to load all the album covers.

-Although it has been enlarged, the screen is still rather small to view videos.

Pros:

- The 324 x 240 Resolution is very good resolution for a digital media player of this kind and since the screen is made out of glass, the picture quality looks a little bit better.

- The improved Zune’s pad allows you to go through your collection by touch of your finger; you can also scroll up and down, left and right like the first generation of Zunes.

- You can customize the background picture of your Zune player with a picture from you picture collection on the device.

- You can share your music and pictures with other Zune users through the built in Wi-Fi; with the new Zune you can also sync your music through your house Wi-Fi connection. The only thing that you need to do is to setup your Zune with the home router for the first time, and after that the device will automatically connect to it whenever it’s connected to charge.

- Being able to listen to the FM-Radio, Microsoft gaves this option to its users to listen to the radio whenever they want to.

- The Zune plays a lot of different formated music, videos, and JPEG pictures, which is mostly what everyone needs now a days.

- The Zune’s software has gotten improved a lot and it includes podcast.

Cons:

- The battery life could be improved a little bit more. The current battery life is pretty decent but comparing it with iPod’s, it needs to be improved

- No Voice Recorder, No FM-Radio Recorder

- No support for Audible audio books

- No memory expansion slots (e.g. SD cards)

- Not being able to connect to the internet

- Sync music, pictures back to your computer through Wi-Fi
